The feature is a hearth containing numerous variations of burning - grey, yellow, orange and red. This was visible on removal of layer (1). There was no hearth stone. Associated finds: c.10 fragments of bone, burnt and unburnt plus six more, 6 sherds of black coarseware plus 4 sherds of red coarseware and 2 pieces of daub.
