Post of a four poster, structure C. Post pipe distinguished after initial section Other half taken out by quarters and second section drawn. Post pipe removed and sampled separately as layer 1, the fill as layer 2. Extension SE along fault line is probably natural, but a possible recut. Finds: very numerous sherds of pottery, burnt bone, teeth, daub and flint fragment [CH81 1851, 3616, 3617, 3592, 3594, 3596-7]

Rubble layer to NW of cart ruts F04413. Patchy, and not very worn. This was at first abandoned as too insubstantial, but turned out to be the floor of Structure C, a 3.6m square 4 poster, which was only discovered on removal of layer (2).

Small burnt patch. Large deep posthole in the bedrock with fill of soil and limestone, stones getting bigger at the base. Many finds throughout. Originally interpreted as a very narrow PH to s of main PH. Section 1 drawn across this feature. Section 2 drawn as profile of main PH on completion of excavation. Dense finds of pot,93 sherds, 111 frags of bone, some burnt, and charcoal [CH81/ 2034-6, 2271, 2510, 2654, 2830-6, 3417, 3420]
