F00304 CI, L2 Neolithic ditch to the south of entrance causeway. Layer (1): Topsoil of limestone chips. Layer (2): Limestone chipples, small stone rubble with dark soil matrix covering slopes of the rampart forming a scree. Much thicker towards rampart. Layer (3): Butt limestone wash and large tumble. Orange soil matrix (east side). Tumble appeared at 5 x 5cm forming a ridge running N-S. Layer (4): Dry limestone dust and large limestone blocks. Layer (5): Dry limestone dust and large blocks,more soil. . Layer (6): Large tumble and brown calc soil. Layer (7): Dry butt limestone dust with medium tumble. Layer (8): Dark grey soil. The (3) extend to the East side of the ditch to the broken and worn bedrock. F01833 L1, L2 Neolithic bank (south).
Layer (1): Topsoil
Layer (2): Tumble spread, small, medium and large stones.
Layer (3). Large stones of bank. From 1975 Lens of material within F01833(3) as F01833(3a) more soily with much burning.
Layer (3a): Soil and burnt stone on F01878. This is the top of causeway F01878 between F01876 and F01877.
Layer (4): Vestiges of bank.

F01842 L2 Root disturbance. 50 cm. SE of F1814. Hollow in rubble of bank therefore if posthole, its postbank. Rubble fill-in has weathered yellow unlike surrounding rubble. 2 large tree roots in centre. F01876 CI, L2 Causeway ditch.
Layer (1): Large rubble mainly.
Layer (2): Soil running in mainly from E.
Layer (3): Silt? natural leaching about bedrock.
F01876(1) and F01833(3) look suspiciously like the same layer in the section, mplying ditch not completely filled in. Smaller than anticipated - must step down under baulk between L2 and CI.

F01881 K1, L2 Neolithic 1b Bank, to W of F01876 and F01877. Much eroded earlier Neolithic bank. Stones rounded, some burning. Much compacted.Might have continued across causeway of 1D bank and also been to West of F01885 but not possible to trace in chipple material. Visible in section to W of F01885. Finds: Flints.
