F04102 L9 Posthole, showing as area of small burnt stones within larger area of more scattered burning, and disturbed burnt limestone. On the edge of a substantial fissure, in surface of layer (2). Unsubstantial sides becasue of fissure, but extent of ph quite clear due to distinctive fill of small burnt stones (pink and blue) and loose earth, some packing stones indicating post pipe. Extreme E edge of ph clipped by E edge of cutting.
Containe a few frags of charcoal and burnt bone

F04105 L9 Posthole. Showing as small patch of irregular stones surrounded by flat bedrock, after removal of lay 1. Clear but somewhat irregular sides giving slightly oval shape in plan; flat bottom, sides tapering in slightly to bottom. Filled with many large and small packing stones in loose brown earth, no burnt limestone.
Finds: pot and burnt pot burnt bone and charcoal.

F04106 L9 Depression in natural gull filled with brownish red burnt limestone gull with a few stones, many vertical, and some burnt, with some leaching at bottom. Excavated from level of L9 plan 3, where it showed as an area of brownish red chipple. The extent of feature showed up much better in NS section of E edge of cutting M9. F04109 L9 Posthole showing as area of fine brown soil with patches of stones, many angled in surface of Layer (3) orange gull. Solid round sides and rounded bottom cut into solid bedrock. Many packing stones some quite large, many very burnt, especially around the sides. At depth of 30 cms the fill changed to a dark try-brown soil with less stones and little burning and few finds.
