Pallisade trench? Hollow in middle of M96, running NW-SE. Originally identified by some burnt stones but later revealed as 1m belt marking northernmost limit of overlying layer F16507. Has a central line of pitched an vertical medium sized stones with some small burnt ones. At 3.2m west of east cutting edge of M96, the trough-like hollow turns northwards.

A patch of burning which showed in F16507 and persists after its removal. Hearth dug into F16545.  Laid stone sides and apparently a laid base.  Sides burnt pink, base burnt blue. Its top fill is small stones, probably F16507. This number is used only for the final fill of hearth.
